John Jewell
Owner/Engineer/Producer
Born and raised in the Washington DC area, John began to develop his love for music at 5 years old when he studied piano under the renowned Gene Prather. At 8, he found the guitar and in his early teens studied under the internationally known Sophocles Pappas, who in turn studied with the legendary Andres Segovia. Pappas’ training can be heard in the recordings of Les Paul, Charlie Byrd, Peggy Seeger and a myriad of others who were also his pupils.
Being a typical child of the 70’s, John took what he learned and applied it to Rock and Blues. John has written and released his own albums over the years and recorded guitar parts on many local artists’ album projects and worked in notable studios such as Bias. John has consistently performed and toured though out the eastern seaboard and South America. While he can play many styles of music, he has mostly concentrated on contemporary Christian music.
John’s appreciation for recording developed during this period -- back when it was tape and vinyl records! After taking some time off to raise a family, he felt that it was time to get back into recording again.
John founded Jewell Tone in 2005 as a part time venture, partly for his own enjoyment but more importantly to record and produce local talent. Jewell Tone is now his full time venture with more than 100 completed projects. He has also had the privilege of working with Gold and Grammy winning session musicians as well as many of the top players in the Washington DC area.
He pays strict attention to detail while attempting to offer clients a friendly, comfortable, and creative environment in which to work. Many of his clients are ‘first timers’ to the studio, and they all agree that he can put them at ease, be patient, encouraging, and coach them to get the best performance possible.

Steven Hascher
Video Production
Steven has lived in New York, Massachusetts, and the Northern Virginia area. He will soon graduate from George Mason University where he is studying the art of film in the Film and Video Studies program.
As a musician, Steven's love for music grew to include an interest in sound for film which blossomed into a passion for the art of film and the creation of a visual story.
Steven places a strong importance on professionalism and pays strict attention to every detail. He ensures that his clients' concerns are given top priority. Each production begins with a clean slate, and every attempt is made to create a pristine finished product.
From small films to audition videos, Steven has the experience and drive to take your production idea and help you turn it into a crafted artistic and creative piece.
His music background gives him an edge in creating a visual aesthetic that not only complements the song, but elevates it.
